The Working Girl star, who is reported to have undergone various plastic surgery procedure, said she is the victim of Twitter trolls who mock how she looks.
'Most people are telling me I look horrible,' she said.
She added: 'The tweets I get are really nasty.'
Griffiths said she takes the criticism in her stride.
Speaking at a benefit for the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, she told US Weekly: 'I don’t know if I look that great,' she demurred.
'[But] I work out a lot. I have a trainer that I [work with] four times a week, and I do hot yoga.'
The actress has long been held up as the poster child for plastic surgery that has gone wrong.
She became infamous for her over plumped 'trout pout' lips as well as a taught, unlined face from using Botox and injectable fillers.
Surgeons also speculated that she had upper eyelid lift in an attempt to give her a youthful appearance.
Griffith, daughter of 1960s star Tippi Hedren, has never admitted to any cosmetic surgery.
But she has admitted to long running battles with drink and drug addiction as well as several spells in rehab clinics.
She spoke about the 'monster' of addiction and how her four children had helped her overcome the addiction to pain killers.
'I couldn’t have done it without them. I really couldn’t have. And I’m so grateful,' she said.
'I see now, I just didn’t get it before. It doesn’t mean that I’m stupid. It’s just that that’s what the disease is.'
She said daughters Dakota, 22, and Stella, 15, were the determining factors for getting clean.
Dakota is Griffith’s daughter from her previous marriage to actor Don Johnson.
Stella is the only child Griffith and long-time husband Antonio Banderas have together.
