But judging by recent comments from Simon Cowell, Demi's hair might not be the only thing making the cut - he's also keen to get her back on the X Factor USA. On Wednesday morning the former Disney star debuted her new look with a Twitter picture.
The 20-year-old chopped her locks from free-flowing beach waves to a polished, shoulder-length crop.
Demi tweeted the picture along with the caption: 'New hair!!!!'

Her new shoulder-grazing hair and sideswept bangs is decidedly more mature.
And perhaps the chop is indicative that Demi is prepared to take on more in her career.
The former X Factor judge might be asked to resume her responsibility as a judge on the X Factor, judging by comments made by Simon in a recent interview.
'We'd be crazy not to have her back,' Cowell admitted.
While other judges were being chopped, Demi's appraises were being sung by Simon.
'I liked having Demi on the show,' he said. 'She's fun to work with.'
Though nothing is official, it seems that the only loss Demi may have experienced is a few inches off her hair.
