Bike Thief Returns For Lock, Caught On Camera

Stupid Criminals: Bike Thief Returns For Lock, Caught On Camera Twice - A man in the Boston area stole a bike from a store when it was jammed with customers, and retuned after two hours for a lock.

“That’s pretty rare. I’ve certainly not heard of anyone come back a second time,” said Douglas Baumgartner, a salesperson.

“One of our sales people at the counter asked if they could help him and he said he was looking for a bike lock,” Wood said.

Because the man was captured by video surveillance cameras when he originally took the stolen bike out of the store, store personnel recognized his face despite the change in wardrobe.

Security officers verified it was the same man who stole the bike who was now at the counter inquiring about locks and followed him out of the store.

Unfortunately, the man was soon lost again in the crowds, but law enforcement said they are confident
they will catch the thief since they now have a permanent record of what he looks like on camera not just once but twice in the same day.
