Heavy Fog Envelopes London Airports, Grounds Flights


Heavy Fog Envelopes London Airports, Grounds Flights, The Heathrow and London City Airports in the U.K. are experiencing heavy fog that has caused the cancellation of several flights Sunday.

At Heathrow Airport, at least 160 flights have been canceled, according to bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england. The London City Airport has had to suspend at least 44 flight and diverted others.

An increase in heat waves is almost certain, while heavier rainfall, more floods, stronger cyclones, landslides and more intense droughts are likely across the globe this century as the Earth's climate warms, U.N. scientists said on Friday.

The U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) urged countries to make disaster management plans to adapt to the growing risk of extreme weather linked to human-induced climate change, in a report released in Uganda.

The dot indicating the forecast center location will be black if the cyclone is forecast to be tropical and will be white with a black outline if the cyclone is forecast to be extratropical.
