The Orange is the New Black star's yoga instructor wife Jessica filed for a legal separation in December (13), but the actor is seeking to skip the intermediary step and officially end the marriage.
Jessica previously requested full custody of the couple's two sons, in addition to spousal support, but Schreiber has since challenged her request by asking a judge to grant them joint custody and block her claim for continued funds, reports TMZ.com.
The former couple wed in 2007.
