In a statement released on Monday (10Feb14), Motes' family stated "an apparent drug overdose" was the cause of death.
Roberts pulled out of the Academy Awards' Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Monday (10Feb14), as well as a scheduled appearance on late-night TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live! to mourn her sister.
