Kim Kardashian and Kanye West avoid naming their daughter with a K.  New mom Kim Kardashian named her first daughter North partially to avoid referencing a white supremacist group.

During a family vacation in May, Kardashian spoke with her step-brother Brody Jenner and sister Kourtney Kardashian about her naming options, and revealed the logic behind her decision on an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Kardashian "kind of" wanted to name her child something that began with the letter K, in keeping with Kardashian-Jenner family tradition. But she worried.

"Our kid, if it's a K, then they'll call us the KKK," Kardashian said.

The reality star and her rapper boyfriend eventually settled on North West, a choice that her siblings were supportive of during the trip.

"It's pretty and cool," Kourtney said.

Kardashian has been keeping out of the public eye while she recovers from the June 15th birth of baby North.

She plans to debut her post-pregnancy body on her mother Kris Jenner's talk show, "Kris."
