Father, Son Die in Alps, Rescuers in the French Alps say they have recovered the bodies of a British man and his 12-year-old son who had gone missing while hiking near Mont Blanc.
The 48-year-old father had called emergency personnel to say that his 12-year-old son had fallen down a cliff, but he was unable to give his precise location.
Local officials say the man also appears to have fallen to his death after phoning for help.
It is reported that the pair had ventured into the rugged area without adequate equipment.
The father said the boy fell in Le Couloir des Bossons, an area known for being particularly difficult.
