Big Bang Theory four years
Big Bang Theory four years, Four years ago, “The Big Bang Theory” was a new CBS show struggling to find an audience, but fast forward to 2013, and the comedy, about a group of loveable nerds, is a bona fide hit!

“Big Bang” wasn’t even among the top-40 rated shows in US in 2009. Last week's episode was the second highest-rated show in the country, pulling more than 20 million viewers per episode, just behind “NCIS.”

Why the jump? Syndication. "You're kind of forced to watch the show now," joked star Simon Helberg at a special PaleyFest event celebrating the show. "We're shoving it down people's throats, and then they're learning that they love that."

The show’s plot surrounds five central characters, roommates Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), neighbor Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and friends Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar).
