A MAN has been arrested and charged after a woman was verbally abused and one of her children assaulted in the street. Paul Duckett, 43, of Croft Road, Newmarket, has been charged with using threatening words/behaviour to cause harassment alarm or distress and is due to appear at West Suffolk Magistrates Court on August 9.It follows an incident in Lisburn Road, Newmarket, between 5.15pm and 5.20pm on Friday when a woman was putting her children in a car.

A man was verbally abusive to the woman and shut the car door on one of the children’s arms. She was upset, but unhurt.
