Social media marketing.

The Wall Street Journal counts the number of followers across several social media websites and reports some impressive figures.

Green has 1.1 million followers on Twitter, 560,000 subscribers on YouTube and hundreds of thousands more on Tumblr, Facebook and a forum called YourPants.org.

"What it tells me is that I'm a lucky guy," Green tells the newspaper.

"But it also says that if you are authentic with your readers, they will trust you when you come out with a new story."
