They truly enhance any woman's beauty. Below are my favorites, and believe me, I've tried them all. And the ads below show the best, most competitive prices, it's where I buy 90% of my beauty necessities from myself. These are the top of the line products that will not give you a fake orange look, only a gorgeous, even brown/olive tan. One of the best ways to warm up your complexion - especially during those winter months.
SHEER TAN- Extremely long lasting, very even and dark, natural color. What makes this totally unique is that it's a spray tan that you do yoursel at home for flawless, even coverage, and it also has a cool device (that really works, I tried it) to get your back!
St. Tropez Self Tanning Creme - There's a reason this stuff has been voted number one by hundreds of women, magazines, and beauty forums. It ROCKS. Quite simply, one of the best self tanning products on the market
- EVER.
Fake Bake Self Tanner - First choice of the likes of Britney Spears and Madonna when they need an insta-tan. Betcha never thought they were "faking it" huh? This stuff is awesome. Well worth the purchase. Goes far, tans fast, and has great staying power and natural fading. We love it.
California North Titanium Self Tanner - One of the favorites of the Hollywood crowd. This product is sold in fine salons and tanning spas out west. Higher price, but well worth the posh results!
Murad Self Tanner - Good, good stuff, or else we wouldn't recommend it.
Peter Thomas Natural Looking Tan - This product produces the deepest most lasting color of any tanning product out there today.
Xen-Tan - This very natural self tanning product also provides an almost immediate tan, so you don't have to wait hours for your color to develop. It gives you a beautiful olive undertone, and has a very pleasant cherry almond scent. Lasts a long time since a little goes a long way. You won't believe how dark you get even with just one application!
Self Tanning - How to Get the Best Results - Article
I have some friends that can go tanning, get really, really dark and olive colored, and not have to worry so much about skin cancer or wrinkles, because they are darker skinned to begin with. Oh, how I envy that! Then there's me, with my naturally pale Irish-German skin, who can't get a tan without getting wall to wall freckles to save her life, and if I do get a hint of a tan, I have to worry about getting skin cancer.
I've already had two removed and I'm not taking any more chances on getting more, nor am I willing to compromise my skin (ie wrinkles, age spots are inevitable when you sun yourself a lot). Enter the savior in my life, the self tanner. Self tanners have freed me from pale summers, and I've gotten so good at applying them that I rarely have to redo it to get the right look.
There are some really good self tanners out there now on the market. The demand for sun-free tans and non-skin damaging alternatives to tanning is huge right now. Not only that, these self tanners (at least the ones on this page) are the best self tanners you'll find anywhere. Period. They are the longest lasting, most natural looking sunless tanners right now.
They'll fake out even the toughest critic, as long as you apply them evenly and correctly, and don't go with a cheapo product. Trust me, self tanners is not something you want to spend less than ten bucks
on. You just won't get the results you want. You may get an orange tinted color, and a pale body is better than an orange one!
I personally recommend only one type of self tanner - the self tanning cream. The reason I don't like the sprays and the mousses or gels is that, in my experience, these gels and sprays and mousses just seem to wear off strangely. They actually wear unevenly, so that you end up with a freckled look. I've never had that problem with any self tanning cream I've used though.
The best of the best self tanning creams will not do this to your skin. They will go on smoothly, wear just like a real tan, fade just like a real tan, and need to be maintained just like a real tan. And the best part is it's all in the comfort of your own home. You'll get so good at it that it's way faster than going tanning in a bed somewhere.
Now, For the Self Tanner Application Tips :
There are some very vital steps you need to take in order to get the best "sunless tan" possible. The first step is directly prior to applying the self tanner - EXFOLIATION (preferably it happens in the shower, right before you apply the self tanner). This way, your skin is clean and ready to be the perfect adherence surface for a long lasting, natural looking sunless tan.
One of the most common mistakes with applying self tanner is that people do not remember to apply them everywhere. I mean, the not so obvious areas like behind your ears, the back of your neck, your hands (the tops of them) and so on and so forth. When you see someone with white areas like this, it looks "fake".
The less clothing you have on after you apply the self tanner to your body, the better able the DHA is to work on giving you the self tan, as it is activated by oxygen, and will work better if it has more open air during the chemical activation phase. I don't generally recommend reapplying a second coat in the same day, I would usually do it the next day, since this produces more natural looking results, and lessens the chance of "yellowness" or an uneven color.
The best self tanners are a win/win situation for you. They do not cause cancer, they do not cause accelerated aging or wrinkles, and you can get tan even if you don't tan in the sun well (like me!) Oh yeah, and take a look at the ultra bronzer below, it's one of the best self tanners out there!
