Mel Gibson's plea deal

Mel Gibson's plea deal

Actor Mel Gibson decided to plead guilty at the domestic violence charges made against him by former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. It seems that Mel Gibson and his lawyers agreed that the best decision for the star at the moment would be to go for a plea deal, as they came “with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end,” Mel’s lawyer, Blair Berk, said in a statement released on Wednesday, CNN news reported. The lawyer also added that their decision came being much influenced by the media attention that this case received from its beginning. However, the statement also added that the actor’s main priority in this case remains his young daughter, Lucia and in fact he did what he believed to be best for the child “and the rest of his children,” who have always been putted “first in any decisions made.”

The statement mentioned that Mel’s decision to ask his attorney to settle the case was actually due his fame and the fact that the star wanted to protect his children from the media scandal that was to start once the charges against the star would be officially pressed. “It is with only that in mind that he asked me to approach the district attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end,” Blair Berk added.
