Drugstore' author admits guilt in pharmacy theft

One of last weekend’s odder stories concerned the re-jailing of James Fogle, the subject of Gus Van Sant’s much lauded Drugstore Cowboy.  For those of you unfamiliar with the Matt Dillion-starring film from ‘89, back in the 70’s, Fogle and his band of fellow junkies drifted around the Pacific Northwest shaking down hospitals and pharmacies in pursuit of dope and cash.  It was Fogle’s then-unpublished account of the time that Van Sant (along with Daniel Yost) turned into the film’s screenplay.
