Prestley and Curtis Blake Fribble helps melt a Friendly's family feud |
Two straws and one chocolate Fribble were all it took to bring together Friendly's founders Prestley and Curtis Blake. The brothers met up at a Port St. Lucie restaurant in Florida and reminisced about the ice cream shop they founded in Springfield during the Depression. The chain, with more than 500 restaurants on the east coast, is set to celebrate its 75th anniversary on July 18, 2010.
A few years ago, the Blake brothers were involved in a public feud over the future of the company before it was sold to private equity firm Sun Capital Partners.
It appears Prestley, 95, and Curtis, 92, have put their differences aside, at least for the Fribble.
