Mark Owen for The Voice? Mark Owen pens Little Voice track. Take That's Mark Owen has penned the finale song for West End musical The Rise and Fall of Little Voice starring Diana Vickers.

Former X Factor finalist Vickers said the track, titled Sunlight, was "the perfect ending to a brilliant play".

Playwright Jim Cartwright said "tears came to my eyes" when he first heard Vickers singing it.


Sunlight was co-written with Jamie Norton and Ben Mark. The musical opens on 8 October in London.

Fourth place

Vickers, 17, is taking a break from recording her debut album to star in the show.

Owen said it was a "real honour" be involved in writing the song.

In 1999, the show was turned into a film starring Jane Horrocks as LV (Little Voice), Ewan McGregor and Sir Michael Caine.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice first premiered in 1992 at the Royal National Theatre, before transferring to the Aldwych Theatre.

It was nominated for six Olivier awards and won both The Evening Standard and Olivier awards for best comedy.

Vickers finished in fourth place in last year's X Factor contest, which was eventually won by Alexandra Burke.
