Nickolay Lamm Barbie Makeover

Nickolay Lamm Barbie Makeover, Barbie’s been given a makeover – and Demi Lovato is a fan.

Nickolay Lamm of MyDeals.com created a 3D model of Barbie made over with the proportions of an average 19-year-old girl. The madeover Barbie is shorter, curvier and has flat feet.

Lamm explained his inspiration for the project, writing:

“Some people say that we shouldn't pay attention to the body proportions of Barbie because she is just a toy. On the surface, that sounds like a valid argument. But a closer look, through research, suggests that Barbie may lead to the following…

Heightened body dissatisfaction among young girls

Unhealthy eating behaviors

A desire to achieve a slim body and therefore eat less”

Lamm created the model using CDC measurements for an average 19-year-old American woman and called the end result “healthy” and “beautiful.”

“I created normal Barbie because I wanted to show that average is beautiful,’’ he told TODAY.com. “If average-looking Barbie looks this good and if there's even a chance of Barbie negatively influencing young girls, why not make one?”

He added that there are “different interpretations” of what the “average” body type is, but that the CDC measurements make his new Barbie “pretty close.”

“If normal Barbie can be made, I feel she'll have a more positive influence on girls than Barbie in its current form,’’ he said. “Normal Barbie shows that you are beautiful, just the way you are.”

“Heart Attack” singer Demi Lovato, who has been open about her history of eating disorders and an advocate for young women’s self-esteem issues, praised the Barbie on Twitter, the Hollywood Gossip reports.

“@barbie you are AWESOME!!!!! LOVE this!!!!!!!” Lovato tweeted along with a picture of the new Barbie.

“Can I also say, that… That new @barbie’s got BACK!!!!! Hahahahaha #bootybootybootyboottrockineverywhere,” she added.
