Lightning Indianapolis: Lightning strikes Indiana camp, injuring 3 children

Three children were injured over the weekend when lightning struck their summer camp, Indianapolis police said.

One of the children was critically injured, The AP reported.

The injured campers were a 12-year-old Loveland, Ohio, boy and two 9-year-olds — a Chesterfield, Mo., girl, and a Kentucky boy, possibly from Louisville, police said in the AP report.

But two were taken to Riley Hospital for Children and treated. They’re in stable condition, AP said. The other was taken to Indianapolis St. Vincent Hospital. On Monday, the condition was still unknown, AP reported.

The lighting struck in the early afternoon on Saturday, at a Reform Jewish summer camp called Goldman Union Camp Institute.
