The Beer Can House is now open to the public as a tour site. The structure, covered in flattened beer cans, served as the home of John and Mary Milkovisch.
The couple started the project in 1968 as a small structure to provide shade to drink afternoon beers.
It grew into something larger — and 17 months later, the house was coated in empty beer cans.
The official in charge of the home’s restoration, Ruben Guevara, with the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, says Mr. Milkovisch never quite understood why people were so interested in his project.
