Hitler Bell, A bell that praised Adolf Hitler - installed by the Nazi dictator's fans in 1939 in Austria - is still tolling.
The tower bell above the red-tiled rooftops of Wolfpassing village is embossed with a swastika and praise to Adolf Hitler, the New York Daily News reported.
The bell pays homage to Hitler for his 1938 annexation of Austria and describes him as 'the unifier and Fuehrer of all Germans.'
The bell says that Hitler freed the 'Ostmark'- Austria in Nazi jargon - from suppression by foreign elements and brought it home into the Great-German Reich.
The bell, which was mounted by fans in an ancient castle, has tolled on for nearly 80 years and evaded notice until now.
Now, officials are scrambling to explain why the bell apparently evaded notice for so long.
