Emmy Rossum splits from boyfriend, Well the Shameless workplace is about to become a little uncomfortable

Emmy Rossum has reportedly split with her co-star Tyler Jacob Moore after publicly declaring herself single this week.

The 26-year-old seemed to be talking the split in her stride, looking happy and content at a Hamptons Fourth Of July Party on Thursday.

According to New York Post's Page Six, the Phantom Of The Opera star was informing friends of her new single status at the event.

The Post reported: 'Rossum was spotted in the Hamptons over the weekend and overheard telling friends that she was ''single again.'''

Emmy and 30-year-old Tyler met on their hit show Shameless.

Tyler's character Tony Markovich lusted after Emmy's character Fiona Gallagher at the start of the series, although the two never got together on-screen.

Sparks flew when the cameras stopped rolling, however, and the pair started dating in 2011.

Why the pair split is not yet clear.

Emmy has certainly not had time to dwell on the end of her relationship as she has been hard at work on a new movie, Comet.

Shooting in Los Angeles, California, the film also stars Justin Long.

The 18-day shoot wrapped up late Monday night and Emmy quickly made her way to New York.

The film has been scheduled for release next January.

Just a day after her Hamptons break - Emmy was preparing to head back to work on yet another film, Curfew.

'Hope you all had a happy and safe 4th.

'Back to work starting tonight on a new film called #curfew in my home state New York,' she tweeted on Friday.

Emmy previously dated Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz and was married until 2009 to music executive Justin Siegel.
