Valerie Harper brain cancer, American actress Valerie Harper has agreed to give a first-person account of her battle with terminal cancer.

The 73-year-old - known for playing Rhoda Morgenstern on television's The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off, Rhoda - was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year and since then has allowed cameras to follow her. She will now appear in a documentary on NBC News.

She has also starred in TV shows such as City and Missing Persons and has appeared in Desperate Housewives and Sex And The City.

Her film credits include Blame It On Rio and Golda's Balcony.
