Top Chef Canada winner, Surrey, B.C.'s Matthew Stowe was named the winner of Top Chef Canada in Monday's season finale, becoming the third chef with ties to B.C. to take the title.
Stowe, who grew up in Surrey and now lives in the Cloverdale area, won $100,000 on the popular Food Network show.
The 30-year-old father says he will continue to work in his current position as the product development chef at Cactus Club, but also dreams of opening his own restaurant one day.
Last year, Sooke native Carl Heinrich won the competition. And in 2011, former Vancouver fry cook Dale MacKay took top honours.

Stowe competed against Toronto's Jonathan Goodyear and Montreal's Danny Smiles in the finale, held in Calgary.
He graduated from New York's Culinary Institute of America in 2002 and previously worked as the executive chef at Sonora Resort in Richmond.
