Tom Cruise Jerry Maguire TV Show

Tom Cruise Jerry Maguire TV Show, Tom Crusie is reportedly considering a new TV project based on box-office smash Jerry Maguire after getting 'inspiration' from fellow actor Eddie Murphy.

The pint-sized star is still big business at the box-office, and his advancing age – he celebrates his 51st birthday in July – hasn't stopped him taking on a string of action roles, amongst them tough-talking former soldier Jack Reacher and a fourth outing as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

But while fans are still queuing up to see their leading man, Tom is said to have his sights set on the small screen after catching wind of Eddie Murphy's plan to turn his 80's hit Beverly Hills Cop into a TV series.

“Tom's so intrigued by Eddie's return to his signature role that he's been exploring opportunities to revive some of his own big characters in a similar fashion,” a source told the National Enquirer.

One role in particular he's reportedly keen on resurrecting is feisty sports agent Maguire, whose exploits in the 1996 blockbuster won Tom a Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

It's understood that he even wants the film's supporting cast members Cuba Gooding, Jr – whose famous catchphrase was 'show me the money' – Kelly Preston and Renee Zellweger to reprise their roles.

“Unfortunately, it's looking unlikely that Renee would even consider a TV series,” the insider added. “But most of the cast from that movie have remained close to Tom and he loves the idea of getting his old pals back together on a regular paid gig.”

If it gets the green light, the show's premise will focus on Jerry some 20-years after we last saw him – surrounded by a brand new team working for his company.

“He's really excited about this project,” claims the insider. “TV is something he's always turned his nose up to, but after watching what Eddie's doing, he can see the value in it.”
