Leonardo Mask Venice, Apparently Leonardo DiCaprio was inspired by his 1998 movie "Man in the Iron Mask" while he was trying to be all incognito as he walked the streets of Venice, Italy, over the weekend. Because, you know, no one's going to stare at a guy trying to eat pizza in a strange black mask.
At least the "Great Gatsby" star was protecting his eyes in the process. Making the look a bit more, um, unique was the fact that the 38-year-old actor placed his designer shades over the mask to avoid the sun ― or anyone who might recognize his famous baby blues.
Of course, the disguise didn't end there. You're never fully dressed for an Italian stroll without a pageboy cap, after all.
Thankfully, he wasn't alone during his mysterious endeavor. Two of his pals joined him in the whole mask-and-hat ensemble.
So does Leo think his undercover look really keeps him under cover? Or is he trying to do some sort of weird social experiment?
We'll probably never know for sure. The next day, he left the mask at home (but not the shades or cap) as he checked out the tennis at the French Open in Paris.
