The twenty-five year difference in their ages has not been an issue for Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Here is information on how they met, their wedding.
Michael and Catherine met in 1998 when they were introduced to one another by Danny DeVito at the Deauville Film Festival in France in August 1998. They began dating a few months later in March 1999.
"I knew this was something special," she says, but with work keeping them apart, "we never even kissed until nine months later." Douglas proposed on New Year's Eve 1999 in Aspen."
Catherine and Michael were married on November 18, 2000 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Their original plans to be married in Wales were changed so Michael's father, Kirk Douglas, could attend.
Catherine's wedding ring has a Celtic motif and was reportedly purchased in Aberystwyth, Wales. The wedding ceremony lasted about 20 minutes and was officiated by New york Chief Judge Judith Kaye.
