60K stuffed in bras

60K stuffed in bras, woman from Canada along with her teenage daughter were caught on Sunday trying to smuggle almost $60,000 hidden in their bras across the border into the U.S.

CBC News reports that the women were planning on flying from the Detroit Metro Airport to Lebanon and that the mother, Moura El-Esmar, 51, reportedly told authorities that her and her 16-year-old daughter were planning to visit family over a two-month trip.

“During the pat down a bulky mass was discovered on the bra. A search revealed two bags sewn into the bra lining,” wrote Homeland Security Investigations officer Todd Scheffler in a complaint.

Court documents show that El-Esmar claimed that the large amount of money came from disability checks and a paper route, and that her daughter earned some of the cash from a babysitting job.

The Windsor Star reports that Moura El-Esmar has been received four charges relating to the border stop, while her daughter has not been charged.
