A tale of tragedy unfolded in Woodbridge, N.J., when a tanker truck carrying 6,000 gallons of Scotch whisky overturned, caught fire and destroyed its glorious, precious cargo.
The accident occurred in a mixed residential and commercial neighborhood when, according to Chief Dan Gregan of the Fords Fire Co., the driver clipped a telephone pole, veered into a parked Cadillac and ignited either the diesel fuel or the Scotch whisky. The driver wasn't seriously injured, however that is more than we can say for the elixir that spilled forth from the truck. We seasoned Scotch drinkers are mourning this loss.
