Autistic Mom Jail Tardy

A Michigan mom is facing jail time — because her son was late to school.

Andria Black, 27, was hauled into court because her 9-year-old son was tardy 16 times this year.

Andria Black says that her 9-year-old son’s autism makes it difficult to get him to school on time. A truancy officer at the school, meanwhile, says that the boy’s 16 absences are grounds to put the mom in jail for up to 90 days and could lose custody.
