Brad Pitt’s Odd Phobia: Going Backwards

Brad Pitt’s odd phobia has been revealed in Empire magazine, straight from the Moneyball star’s mouth. See what he has to say about his fear of ‘going backwards’ below.

Pitt told the mag that he has an obsession with ‘moving forward’ in his life, so much so that he can’t bring himself to go in reverse in his vehicle or walking back into his house if he forgot something. Wow. He explains:
“If I’m walking out the door and I’ve forgotten something, I can’t go back and get it. It is something in my nature. If I’m driving down the road and I miss a turn, I have to keep going forward. I can’t reverse. It’s some kind of psychological defect.”

Does this mean he won’t back out of a parking space too? What the heck? He can’t even surmise why he feels that way, adding:
“I don’t know the reason why… But it’s just that, for better or worse, I want to keep moving on. I don’t like to go backwards. It’s not what I’m good at.”
I suppose he won’t be getting back together with Jennifer Aniston should he and Angelina split, eh? Another Brad Pitt fear? The safety and health of Angie and the kids. Yes, in a PARADE Magazine interview from 2009 he revealed that the thought of losing Angelina and the children keeps him up at night. I can’t even imagine Brad being so vulnerable like that. He seems like such a strong person, but it just goes to show that phobias can affect anyone, no matter how strong you think they are.
Meanwhile, his latest film, Moneyball, has received positive reviews. In its opening weekend last week, the film came in second ($20.6 million) behind Lion King ($22.1 million). Friends have given the flick a big thumbs up, so I’ll be hitting the theaters this weekend to check it out. 90 minutes of Brad Pitt screen time…yes, thank you very much!
