Many mothers are eager to get back into shape after a pregnancy.

And Kelly Preston was no different after the birth of her third child Benjamin in November last year.

However, the 39-year-old actress says she has since had success, losing 39lbs, all thanks to best friend Kirstie Alley's weight-loss programme.

Kelly, who is married to Grease star John Travolta, said she turned to the 60-year-old former Cheers star in an effort to lose her baby weight.

Kirstie, of course, has had her own weight loss success, after shedding 100lbs this year.

'When I got pregnant at 48, I didn't know if my body would bounce back,' Kelly told People magazine.

'I was so excited when my best friend created Rescue Me...It's pretty much the most genius thing ever.'

Kelly said on Kirstie's Organic Liaison weight loss plan she achieved more than she expected.

'I lost 39 lbs., have more energy than I had 20 years ago... and I feel amazing. I'm going to be turning 50 next year - holy s***! Hey, 50 is the new 30,' she told the U.S. publication.

'Rescue me' was created by Dancing With The Stars runner-up Kirstie herself, in order to aid her own weight loss.

To get in shape, the Cheers star danced up to two hours a day, six days a week and followed the Organic Liaison plan.

The powdered product is described as an 'organic supplement system which targets cravings and boosts natural energy.'

The ingredients in the organic elixir 'gently cleanse your body and replenish key nutrients naturally while you lose weight.'

Kelly and her husband John Travolta became proud parents of their baby son Benjamin on the November 23rd 2010.

At the time the pair said they were 'ecstatic' about their new baby, who was born in a Florida hospital weighing 8lbs 3oz.

A statement from the family read: 'John, Kelly and their daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family.

'Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully.'

The pair welcomed their new son into the world less than two years after their son Jett, 16, suffered a fatal seizure in January 2009 during a family holiday in the Bahamas. Kirstie Alley organic liaison

This year Kelly praised her Scientology religion for helping her cope with the ordeal.

She revealed that she didn't know what she would have done without her beloved faith.

'To be honest, [it was] the Scientology centre. I don’t know if I would have made it through without it,' she told Health magazine in their September 2011 issue.
