Hikers rescued near everest, Many Hikers Rescued Near Everest, Hundreds Remain Stranded. Stranded Hikers Slowly Making Their Way Out

Thousands of hikers were stranded in the Everest region for days due to heavy fog and poor weather conditions.

Approximately 2,000 people in all were affected by this; however, some of the stranded hikers decided to give up waiting for a flight out. About 400 people began a four-day walk to Kathmandu, where they will pick up a bus ride out. Most of those stranded, were Americans, Britons and Germans, traveling to one of the world’s most popular destinations.

The stranded tourists were forced to sleep in the airport, tents and hotel dining rooms all around the city of Lulka. However, food supplies were beginning to get low.

Monday morning, flights resumed, due to the fog lifting, and will continue as long as the weather conditions are clear enough for air travel.
