Yesterday, “Coronation Street” star, Michael Le Vell, returned to work after being accused of child sex abuse. Last week, a woman accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a child.
His co-stars welcomed him back to the show. Reportedly, the cast supports him and stand by him as he fights to clear his name against these charges.
The troubled star was absent from the show for two weeks as he met with his team of lawyers to determine what steps he should take to fight these allegations.
Le Vell, 46, has separated from his 45 year-old wife, Janette Beverley. The couple was married for 25 years and has two children together.
According to sources, Le Vell is very adamant about his innocence and wants to fight these allegations. Also sources revealed, Michael does not want to hide from the situation and will do all he can to prove that he is innocent.
An insider at the ITV1 soap’s Manchester studios said last on Friday: “It was all very emotional.
“Everyone backed him wholeheartedly, without exception – shaking his hand and offering their support, saying they were ‘with him’. He was clearly very touched by the response.
“Understandably, it was a nerve-racking day for him, but everyone was keen to put him at ease and make him feel welcome. Michael is a well-liked and respected colleague, and he has our complete backing while he fights this.”
Here in Canada, Coronation Street airs week days on CBC from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and on Sundays from 7:00am to 12:00pm
